STARGATE
Stargate is a record about passage — the moment when we step beyond what is familiar and into something unknown. It explores change, uncertainty, loyalty, distance, possibility, and the courage it takes to keep moving forward. The “stargate” becomes a metaphor for transformation: a doorway between who we have been and who we might become. Across the record, those ideas appear in different forms. “Ride or Die” is about commitment and the people who remain beside us through change. “Oceans Between Us” confronts distance and the forces that can separate people while still leaving a connection underneath. “Muddled Matrix” lives inside confusion and complexity, while “Intrepidation” captures the tension between fear and the desire to move forward anyway. “Our Season” looks toward the moment when perseverance, timing, and possibility finally come together. Musically, Stargate is the most electric and hard-driving of the trilogy of 2026. Jazz improvisation collides with psychedelic rock, funk, electronic sound, punk energy, and heavy rhythmic grooves. Trumpet moves through distorted textures and expansive arrangements, while the musicians around it push the music between tightly constructed passages and moments of freedom. At its heart, Stargate is about crossing a threshold. We cannot always know what is waiting on the other side, but transformation requires us to enter anyway — carrying our relationships, our experiences, our uncertainty, and our hope with us.
HOLDING SPACE
Holding Space is a record about presence — making room for ourselves, for one another, and for the things that are difficult to express in words. It is about listening without rushing to fix, allowing stillness to have value, and recognizing that sometimes simply being present can be an act of love. Across the album, Benjamin Adamson explores ideas of patience, kindness, breath, listening to one's intuition, and connection. “Beginner’s Mind” reflects the willingness to approach life with openness and without assumption. “Be Kind to Yourself” turns that same compassion inward. “Breath Meditation” creates thirteen minutes of space to breathe, stretch, slow down, and return to the present moment, while “Hope Radio” brings warmth, movement, and optimism into the record. The title track, “Holding Space,” brings these ideas together — creating a place where reflection and connection can exist without needing an immediate answer. Musically, the album moves between jazz and chamber music, with elements of Brazilian music, meditation, and improvisation. Flugelhorn and trumpet sit alongside piano, woodwinds, cello, bouzouki, synthesizer, tabla, and percussion, giving each piece its own character while maintaining a sense of intimacy throughout. Ultimately, Holding Space is an invitation to slow down, listen more deeply, and make room — for breath, for uncertainty, for kindness, and for the people around us.
ONE SPARK
One Spark is a record about gratitude, encouragement, and the people whose belief in us helps shape who we become. The “one spark” can be a word of encouragement, a teacher, a friend, a family member, a musical hero, or anyone who sees something in us before we fully see it in ourselves. The album honors those moments of support and the shoulders we stand on as we find our own way forward. Musically, the record moves through jazz, soul, Brazilian rhythm, funk, electronic textures, and more aggressive electric sounds, reflecting the many influences and communities that have shaped Benjamin Adamson’s musical life. Trumpet and flugelhorn remain at the center, surrounded by synths, Rhodes, vibraphone, guitar, percussion, and deeply improvisational rhythm sections. From the optimism of “Winning” and the movement of “Rio de Janeiro,” to the restless energy of “Binary Punk,” the openness of “One Spark,” and the warmth of “Little Obi,” the record is ultimately about carrying something forward — recognizing what others have given us, adding our own voice, and hopefully becoming a spark for someone else.
